What is First Day?
First Day of School America is a grassroots movement that brings together schools, families, and communities in celebration of education. First Day events are a fun, practical, effective way to get parents involved in their children's education starting on Day One of each school year

The First Day of School Celebration Handbook is all you need to get started. It includes program examples, sample letters, a collection of First Day stories, frequently asked questions, and planning checklists. The Handbook is a valuable tool for your First Day planning team.

Read First Day stories about what others are doing, and get helpful ideas you can use in your own community. Our newsletter also highlights other successful parent involvement initiatives.
