"PDF"
stands for "Portable Document Format",
a file type developed by Adobe that allows
you to view documents exactly as they appear in their
original print form! You don't need any of the original
document's fonts installed on your computer, Acrobat
creates them for you!
Acrobat
is easy to use, however you might want to review the
following tips. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader Version
3, or better, to view our files.
Windows
95, 98, NT, or 2000
You should make a decision
between viewing our PDF files in your browser or saving.
In Windows you cannot do both (however you can always
go "back" after viewing a PDF file in your
browser, to do a "save").
To
"view" our PDF files using Windows:
Click your left mouse button on the PDF link, the following
window should open showing that the file is downloading.
When it finishes, Acrobat will open and you will be
able to view the file, and "print" it. You
cannot "save" it from the Acrobat Reader window.

To
"save" our PDF files in Windows:
Using your right mouse button, click on the PDF link,
you will see the following menu. Select "Save Link
As..." (shown highlighted in blue) and you will
be prompted about where to save (see below).

Choose
a location to save your file. You can then read it off-line,
or print it later. You should see a window like the
one below, where you will choose a location to save
the file. "My Documents" will be default for
most users.

To
View or Save on the Macintosh, OS 7.1 - OS 9:
Click your mouse on the PDF link, Acrobat Reader
will open and display our file. You may then "print"
or "save" from within that window.
You do not have to choose as in Windows, simply select
"Save As..." from your "file" menu
in Acrobat Reader.

More
Help, or to download the Acrobat Reader:
You can download the Acrobat Reader, and find additional
information about using Acrobat, on Adobe's web site
at www.adobe.com.
Acrobat Reader is easy to install in both Windows and
Macintosh. Adobe provides extensive support on their
web site, the First Day Foundation does not provide
support for Adobe Acrobat outside of this web page.
